Well done this morning, everybody. The workouts were not easy, but y’all did them to the best of your ability. After talking to some of you afterwards, it sounds like you pushed yourselves pretty hard. Remember that the first time you go into “uncharted territory” and push yourself to the limit, it can be intimidating. But the flip side to that is that you gain confidence in knowing more and more, how far you can push yourself. You know you’re getting better when you can get yourselves into zones of better performance. If you tried and didn’t succeed, try it again tomorrow, then the next day, and the day after that. Sooner or later, you WILL get there, because the doubt WILL melt away.
You might wonder why we named the crews so early, when usually they get named in March. One of the big reasons is that we want you working as a crew. There is nothing like being part of a team, where each of you are encouraging the others. When your team mate improves, your team improves. I saw a great quote along these lines yesterday, and it is SO true in our sport:
TEAM WORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK
On another note, please make sure to get the entries in for the Ontario Indoor Champs on March 3 at Ridley College in St. Catharines. If you aren’t sure about which category to enter, please ask.
