We had four rowers competing at CIRC on Sunday. First up were the Girls U17 lightweight. Celina set a new PB with an 8:17.2, good for 10th overall out of 47. Maggie finished 16th in the same race, just missing out on a PB by 0.6 seconds.
Next up was Jack in the Boys U17 lightweight category. A PB was not to be on this day, but he wasn’t too far off.
Last up was Max in the Boys U17 category where 5.9 seconds separated third from 7th. It was particularly tight between 5th, 6th and 7th, where the results were 6:53.1, 6:53.2 and 6:53.3. In the end, Max was 7th, just 2.3 seconds off his PB.
Kudos to these four rowers. They managed to maintain their training over Quiet Week and Exam Week to a point where there was very little regression. It’s not an easy time to keep up the training, but yet it’s SO important to pick up at a point where you feel like you’re resuming, not starting over. These four are now poised to do AWESOME things at Ontario’s in a month’s time! Well done!
