Please check your e-mail for the race plan and some Pre-Welland thoughts. Any questions, let me know! Again, things will be a bit different at this regatta and you will need to be on top of your game for EVERYTHING.
Also, I’ve had a huge number of parents ask me if there’s anything you can do….and now, finally, I can say YES!!! I need at least one parent from each crew, two if it’s an eight, to help launch that boat and be there when it returns to the dock. The main tasks are to watch the stern end of the boat as it goes out to launch to make sure it doesn’t hit anything, to carry oars to the boat, and collect shoes and put them near the dock. On the return, you need to bring the shoes back to the boat, carry the oars to the oar tree and help guide the boat back to the trailer. If two of you want to do it, that’s fine. If you want to split the duties, that’s fine too—just remember to tell the person doing the return leg where the shoes are!
